Glossary
Aerobics. The track that changes how a viewer can move: hold them still, or set their walking, running, strafing and jumping.
Animation. The track that plays an animation clip on an object, from baked data.
Autoplay. A Dream setting. On, the Dream starts by itself when the world loads or when someone walks into its zone.
Camera. The track that frames a shot: the viewer is sealed in darkness with one window on the world.
Condition. A requirement on a node or a lane: a viewer's name, or their answer to a prompt. The node plays only for viewers who match.
Content Drawer. The panel of tiles for everything you can add, with a checkbox that turns each track on or off.
Cue. The track that puts an object on stage between two times, with an entrance and an exit effect.
Dream. One show, made in the Dream Editor and played in your world. A scene can hold several.
Dream Editor. The window where you make a Dream. The window is the timeline.
Dreamer Pro Player. The object in your scene that carries the video player, the controls and every panel a Dream shows.
Dreamwalker. A performer: a recorded performance played back on an avatar in your world.
FX. The track that keeps an object moving while it is on stage: hover, pulsate, sway, jitter, rotate, orbit.
Gated Dream. A Dream that waits behind a pin or a guest list until someone opens it.
Group. The track that opens a VRChat group page for the viewer.
Guidance. The track that points a viewer at something or draws them a path.
Hosted. Playback in time with a video at a link. Non-hosted playback runs on Dreamer Pro's own clock.
Image. The track that shows an image card in front of each viewer.
In point. Where inside a recording or a sound a node starts playing.
Intro cards. Images shown before the Dream starts, while its video loads.
Lane. A row inside a track. A track can have several lanes so nodes can overlap in time.
Lint. The check that lists everything in a Dream that would not play, or might not play as you meant.
Local Dream. A Dream where every visitor has their own playhead.
Marker. A line down the timeline, for your own reference.
Mat-swap. The track that changes an object's material at a time.
Mechanics. The track that makes a performer react to viewers: eyes, head, body, and posing.
Motion. The track that walks or teleports a performer from one place to another.
Move. The track that glides an object to a new position, rotation and scale, holds it, and can bring it back.
Node. One thing on the timeline. Every kind of node has its own track.
Playhead. The line on the ruler that marks the current time. Drag it to scrub.
Point node. A node with only a start. It does one thing at that moment.
Presence. The track that puts a performer on stage and chooses which recording it plays.
Preview. The editor's playback of the Dream in the Scene view.
Prompt. The track that asks each viewer a question and remembers the answer.
Range node. A node with a start and an end. It does something for as long as the playhead is inside it.
Recording. A performance captured from VR: body, voice and face. Each Presence node carries its own.
Shared Dream. A Dream where everyone in the room watches the same moment.
Skybox. The track that changes the sky.
Slide. One scene of a slideshow. Every slide is its own timeline inside the Dream.
Slideshow. A Dream made of slides that a presenter steps through.
Snap. Dragging lands on a grid: a frame, which is a thousandth of a second, a second, five seconds, or the edge of another clip. Off turns it off. Hold Ctrl or Shift to ignore it.
Sound. The track that plays audio clips, including recorded voices.
Teleport. The track that moves the audience to a spot and arranges them.
Text. The track that shows text in front of each viewer.
Toggles. The track that turns parts of a performer on or off for a stretch.
Track. A row on the timeline for one kind of node. A new Dream shows three; turn the rest on in the Content Drawer.
Vision FX. The track that acts on the viewer's sight. Its effect is Fade to Black.
Voice. The track that changes how people in the room sound to each other.
Who May Control. A Dream setting: who can press play, pause, skip and scrub in the world.
Zone. The part of the world where a Dream is active. A dome or a box. Walking into it makes that Dream yours.
.dream file. One file that holds a whole Dream and everything it needs, for sharing.
